It has been quite a busy 2018 for TCPA litigation. Google Scholar tells me there have been 334 federal decisions touching upon the statute this year. As is our duty, the Womble Bond Dickinson TCPA Team has read and digested every single one. After all, TCPA defense is all we do; all day, every day.

As has been my tradition, I pause the first day of August each year and take stock of all of the TCPA developments year to date. I have prepared Womble Bond Dickinson’s semi-annual TCPA review containing a discussion of the most pertinent TCPA cases of the year, categorized by topic for ease of use.  While we always stock TCPAland.com with the biggest news, many cases do not merit full blog treatment, but still receive analysis in the Mid-Year Review.

For those of you that are new to my Semi-Annual Reviews, we discuss only TCPA cases decided in 2018, identifying key trends and pitfalls along the way. This year’s Review includes a review of dozens of 2018’s most interesting TCPA cases and developments organized into 17 categories with my analysis and editorial comments to guide you along.

A snippet of the Womble Bond Dickinson Mid-Year TCPA Review is below to tantalize you:

Mid Year Review

I am happy to provide you with the whole Review–free of charge of course–just reach out and ask for it. (No consumer lawyers–sorry!) This is an extremely valuable resource that no TCPA defense practitioner should be without.

As always, my Annual TCPA review will be available in early January, 2019.

Also, if you are interested in purchasing a copy of my TCPA practice guide—still the nation’s only comprehensive TCPA resource—that includes discussion of cases from past years you can find that here: https://ceb.com/debt-collection-practice-in-california
